If the answer is YES, then families need someone like you! We need caring, flexible patient people to live in or out and help with the daily family routine. In exchange you can make a real difference to someone’s life while gaining experience and learning a new language. You will make new friends, and experience a different culture first hand.
In some cases, you will be minding children in a house where there is a special needs child, so the parents can have extra help with that child or the other kids. You might be taking more responsibility for the special needs individual and helping them go about their daily tasks. Or, you might opt to be a companion to an elderly person who needs help with housekeeping, shopping, and would like some company in their home. We have listed the types of carer we need, and hope there will be a position there to suit your experience.

We are offering live in positions but in some cases, by agreement, it will be possible to work on a daily live out basis. We offer guidelines on pay and conditions but these are by no means binding. They should be in line with your experience to date however, and the hours you are required to work. We offer all our carers a support system here by way of our chat room forum, where you can meet similar carers, and discuss problems.

Our families will negotiate terms with you, so be sure that you are happy and have all agreements in writing. It may not be possible to cover all ground before you join the family, so please try to be flexible.

When registering we strongly urge you to fill out as many details as possible in order to find the right family for you. The "Dear Family" letter we consider very important so please try to fill it out – even in your native language if you feel your English isn’t good enough.
